About the Role


The Withdrawal Management Worker assists in ensuring the physical, emotional, social and medical needs of adult participants, who are withdrawing from substances and assists participants in their transition into the community upon completion of services.

WMS is a medically supervised, secure space for adults seeking safe withdrawal from alcohol and/or drugs. WMS offers 24-hour nursing care and access to an on-site physician in a respectful, non-judgmental environment. Rotations include shifts at both 760 Hwy33 and 480 Royal Ave program sites.


Position:
Casual On-Call


Wages:
Grid level 14
:$ $33.73 per hour plus applicable shift premiums

  • Evening shift premium additional $3.50 per hour between 1900hr0700hr
  • Weekend shift premium additional $2.50 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
  • Shift premiums compound
- additional $6.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr on 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday


Qualifications

  • Education and experience_
  • Diploma in Human Services or a related field
  • Three years of relevant experience (preferred)
  • Job skills and abilities_
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach skills and work effectively with others.
  • Knowledge of theory, principles and practices of substance abuse and treatment models.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Other requirements_
  • Criminal record check in accordance with agency policy
  • First aid/CPR certificate (preferred)
  • Proof of Covid19 vaccination or exemption required.
