Standard Responsibilities:

The Payroll Coordinator will report to the Director of Human Resources and have a variety of responsibilities. This position offers fantastic opportunities for growth and professional development.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for assisting the Payroll and Benefits Manager with semimonthly and monthly payroll for 400+ employees
  • Act as payroll backup for vacation relief
  • Provide administrative support to the Payroll and Human Resources department
  • Monthly payroll journal entries
  • Assist with the processing of benefit plans for all eligible employees
  • Maintain HRIS system (BambooHR) ensuring data integrity and accuracy of records across all offices
  • Participate in yearend budget procedures (create spreadsheets, gather and input data)
  • Generate and create reports as required
  • Administer the annual staff performance reviews
  • Participate in staff recruitment (update job descriptions, post jobs and schedule interviews)
  • Active participation in Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Response Committees
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 2+ years' working experience in Payroll Administration
  • Experience within a professional services firm is an asset
  • Knowledge of ADP WorkForceNow an asset but not required
  • Familiarity with Aderant is an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with HRIS systems is an asset
  • Excellent organization and multitasking skills
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the firm
  • Able to act tactfully and with discretion when dealing with confidential matters
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage competing demands with a high level of attention to detail and accountability
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel Skills
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


The typical salary range for this position is
$48,000 - $58,000 annually; the base pay offered is based on location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, internal and market equity.
