As an IT Security Advisor - Threat Response, you help protect IT hardware, software and data against modification, destruction, and accidental or unauthorized disclosure.

You also assist in authentication and access control by designing, administering and controlling proven security systems. You analyze IT system vulnerabilities and implement protective measures to back up, restore and secure systems.

More specifically, you help analyze and diagnose complex IT security issues or situations.

You provide opinions in accordance with your discipline's rules and make proposals for optimizing standards and recommend solutions to improve security architecture.

You propose appropriate implementation plans based on an automated deployment approach. Your general knowledge of IT contributes to the implementation of IT solutions that comply with security standards and targets.

You serve as an advisor and coach for Agile project squads in the area of threat response.

General Information on the Position


Main responsibilities- Act as a security advisor in your field for practitioners and decision-making bodies- Represent your unit in meetings with committees, departments and/or suppliers about the mandates entrusted to you- Identify and analyze major issues.

Diagnose issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies- Produce analysis reports on features or tools- Draft guides and procedures related to the field of activity- Analyze problem situations and suggest possible solutions in accordance with Desjardins's governance and security frameworks- Contribute to the design of secure technology solutions required for the advancement of your projects and develop detailed architecture in your area of expertise, as well as implementation plans that respond to the changing needs and technology targets of the organization- Design technological solutions by carefully considering both the specific components and general impact of each solution proposed- Assist other team (squad) members in their daily work- Coordinate stakeholders from different fields of expertise- Participate in developing operating targets and their transition strategies- Be able to work on several projects simultaneously- Ensure a monitoring role in order to understand and anticipate current trends and best practices in your area of expertise- Ensure the quality of deliverables for projects under your responsibility.

Other working conditions- Workplace: Position located in Montreal, Levis, Sherbrooke, Trois-Rivieres, Drummondville or Gatineau, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work- Number of jobs available: 1

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience on largescale files involving multiple stakeholders
  • Experience explaining needs and requirements for solutions, processes and tools in plain language
  • Experience in designing or implementing security infrastructure with Python or equivalent language
  • Experience with orchestrators or CICD tools such as DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, BitBucket and GitHub
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum mode
  • Experience writing technical documentation


Specific knowledge- Expertise in cyber defence, threat detection and response- Knowledge of Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) system- Knowledge of monitoring/detection and response (SOC) (an asset)- Knowledge of security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, etc.)

(an asset)- Knowledge of Jira for managing and tracking stories and backlog (an asset)- Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and/or clients
