    Be part of something big by applying for our Geotechnical Engineer position:

    Tetra Tech is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our ice engineering team as part of the regional Arctic Engineering Group. This field is rapidly growing with plenty of opportunities in the North. You will work on various ice engineering projects during the ice season, with the chance to explore other engineering assignments in the summer.

    We understand that not all candidates will have direct experience in ice engineering. We value practical skills and a willingness to take on new challenges within a supportive team. This role is a long-term investment, aiming for the candidate to build expertise in ice engineering. While our ice engineering team is based in Edmonton, we offer flexible work arrangements for suitable candidates.

    We are known for our expertise in ice engineering, having developed best practices and guidelines. Our projects range from winter roads and ice bridges to frozen tailings. There are also opportunities for research projects to address client and industry needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical solutions for challenging ice engineering projects.
    • Engage in fieldwork to learn safe on-ice operations.
    • Mentor junior staff members in the future.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and contractors.
    • Be the face of Tetra Tech as an industry expert in client interactions.

    Qualifications for Success:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
    • Over five years of experience in fieldwork and office environments.
    • Experience in managing contractors and construction oversight is a plus.
    • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Western or Northern Canada.
    • Ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
    • Proficiency in 2D or 3D modelling is advantageous.
