Atlantic Packaging, Supply & Inventory Management Division is looking for a dynamic, customer-oriented
Buyer for our Scarborough location.

You are a highly motivated, energetic person who enjoys a fast paced and exciting challenge. You are analytical and detail oriented, preferably experienced in Distribution industry.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for daytoday purchasing activities from procure to pay including quoting, purchase requisitions, arranging inbound freight, expediting, quality issues and invoice issues.
  • Generate purchase orders to replenish approved products ensuring maximum cost effectiveness and excellent customer fill rates
  • Maintain and control vendor files as they relate to cost, quantity, quality and specifications
  • Manage vendor relationships including costing, quality, delivery, and other related metrics to ensure maximum utilization
  • Ability to work core business hours of 8:00 AM 5:00 PM eastern time Monday through Friday
  • Ensure ownership and responsibility is taken for all purchasing requirements
  • Develop strong rapport with suppliers
  • Work closely with company warehouses, customer service & sales
  • Investigate and follow up on any issues and/or shipping delays
  • Source product and prepare proposals for customer requirements
  • Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement strategies and cost reduction initiatives

Requirements;

  • Some post secondary technical training from an accredited institution or 2 years' experience in
Direct buying and sourcing. Experience in redistribution would be an asset.

  • Proven experience negotiating and managing contracts
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication/documentation skills
  • Ability to efficiently multitask and schedule priorities
  • Selfmotivated, detail oriented, and the ability to process confidential and/ or controlled information
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and an ERP system
  • Effective management of the quality and on time delivery evaluations
  • Proven success in sourcing, purchasing and partnering with suppliers
  • Excellent interpersonal, attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Superior organizational skills and planning skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and with little direction
  • Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
