Maintenance Coordinator

Heritage Square is located in Vernon, at the north end of the picturesque Okanagan Valley. It has stunning views, lots of private outdoor space, and is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, public transit and beautiful parks.


We are looking for a dependable and conscientious full time Maintenance Coordinator who has a keen eye for detail and a knack for making sure building maintenance and mechanical systems keep running smoothly.

What You Will Do

  • Perform maintenance duties related to buildings, grounds, and equipment in a variety of areas such as electrical, plumbing and painting in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance such as unblocking waste lines and replacing fixtures and fittings.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment such as wheelchairs, beds and carts by cleaning, greasing, oiling, and replacing broken and worn parts.
  • Coordinate tradespeople for annual/seasonal maintenance and major repairs.
  • Provide oncall assistance for afterhour emergencies.

Your Qualifications - The Must Have's

  • Mechanically inclined and competent with hand tools, power tools and powered equipment
  • Able to read, understand and follow manufacturers specifications related to equipment maintenance schedules
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to organize work and complete tasks within the allocated timeframes
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, pushing, pulling, manual dexterity, walking, and standing
  • Basic computer skills; able to use Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Must successfully pass the prescribed criminal records check for the vulnerable sector and provide proof of vaccinations
  • Must have your own tools, a reliable vehicle and current drivers' license

The Nice to Have's

  • Previous experience in a residential environment or multiunit home.
  • Friendly and kind personality who recognizes that they are not just going to a building each day, but that they are maintaining the home where a wonderful group of seniors live.
  • Ability to get the work done and balance outcomes while stopping to chat on occasion with folks as they go about their daytoday.
