Job description
WaveStar Networks is seeking an experienced full-time Network Implementation Technician who will be responsible for the installation and implementation of newly deployed telecommunications equipment and power cables.
In addition, the incumbent must be able to obtain and understand information for these scheduled changes from documentation, floor plans, cable run diagrams and cabinet elevation drawings.
Duties Include- Installation and testing of data center equipment and cabling.
- Rack/cabinet installation, removal, prepping of rack/cabinet to accommodate new equipment/cable.
- Installation, including placement, connector installation and connectivity testing of RG59 Coax, Cat5 and Cat
- Installation, connection to devices and testing of telecom fiber
- DC power cable, lug and panel installation
- Commission and turn up of multiple Telecom Platforms.
- Testing and Troubleshooting Network and Transport Operation circuits
- Meeting with clients to discuss project scope, deadline and strategies.
- Site surveys for quoting projects.
- Input project asbuilt information
- Maintenance window cutover shifts for network services and power turn up.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering graduate of a Telecommunications Program or relevant experiences
- Knowledge of data centers, equipment, architecture, connectivity
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly with Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to provide daily detailed reports to Management.
- Strong team player, able to clearly communicate with internal and external project teams and customers.
- Detailoriented with solid troubleshooting and analytical skills
- The ability to respect and take caution while working on live equipment.
- Multitasking ability; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Selfmotivated with the ability to take initiative and troubleshoot independently.
- Very high quality of work, important and valuable work ethic.
- Must have valid driver's license and own vehicle.
- Selfmotivated, commitment to quality, highly organized
- Available to travel for short periods of time, sometimes on short notice.
