Krahn Engineering is looking for a
Structural Drafting Technician to join their team in Toronto, ON, this role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person.


The Structural Drafting Technician will be responsible for the preparation of structural engineering drawings using 3D modelling in Autodesk Revit Structure.

They will be required to work collaboratively in a team environment with Architects and multi-disciplined Engineers and Designers. Other duties will fall under the direction of the Manager on a project-by-project basis.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Create 3D structural engineering models
  • Document & annotate 2D drawings, sections, and details generated from 3D models
  • Coordinate models and workflow between the multidisciplined design team
  • Contribute to QA/QC efforts and efficiency of drawing production
  • Respond to contractor's inquiries or request for change during the construction phase
  • Occasional assistance of engineers in reviewing structural shop drawings and conducting site reviews
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required

Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:


  • Minimum five years of previous workrelated experience in structural 3D modelling using Autodesk Revit. Experience with AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Understanding of building construction practices and details
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and multidiscipline engineering drawings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Selfstarter, motivated, and detailoriented

Training, Certification and Education:


  • Degree or Diploma in CADD with emphasis on Structural drafting
  • Registered with ASTTBC, ASET, OR OACETT considered an asset
