The Unit Secretary is a valuable member of the NICU and has a significant impact on the efficient and effective operation of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for both clerical and receptionist duties as well as patient registration. The clerical aspect of the role includes: patient registration, filing, recording, organizing and entering physician orders into the computer, photocopying, faxing documents, arranging patient transfers, reordering supplies as needed. 48_Communication Created with Sketch.Communication
The receptionist aspect of the role includes: receiving visitors, patients and/or hospital personnel on the department, answering and directing telephone calls to the appropriate personnel, scheduling appointments and giving information related to patient care as authorized by a Registered Nurse.
