The Clinic's 3,000 sq ft innovation hub equips emerging health inventors with education, resources, and support to move innovations forward.

The Clinic's offerings range from supporting undergraduates as they navigate entrepreneurship as a potential career choice, through to clinican entrepreneurs and researchers creating start-up companies from their labs and commercializing inventions.

The programs and mentorship network are led by a stellar team of McMaster faculty, many who are health innovators themselves, sharing the passion to coach and mentor other health innovators through their entrepreneurial journey to commercialization.

The Clinic is part of a larger network within the Michael G. DeGroote Initiative for Innovation in Healthcare and the newly established Marnix E. Heersink School of Biomedical Innovation and Entrepreneurship.


Are you passionate about driving innovation in healthcare and supporting the next generation of health entrepreneurs? The Clinic at McMaster University is seeking a dynamic and expereienced Event Coordinator to join our team.

As an Event Coordinator at The Clinic, you who will play a pivotal role in organizing and executing engaging events that bring together clinicians, researchers, industry experts, and entrepreneurs.

Your exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail will be critical in coordinating and managing a diverse range of events, including workshops, conferences, networking sessions, and pitch competitions.


We are looking for a true event enthusiast with a passion for creativity and innovation, and proven experience in event coordination.

The position requires exceptional organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute logistics for events.
  • Provide recommendations on the suitability of space, venues, and set up for various events.
  • Coordinate the use of all facilities and meeting space with The Clinic.
  • Ensure that venues are booked, setup, cleaned, and that food service, and equipment rentals are provided.
  • Distribute evaluation surveys to event attendees and volunteers and collect feedback.
  • Review and use survey feedback to assess and improve future events and activities.
  • Prepare estimates of time and resources required for various events.
  • Monitor and reconcile event costs and verify the accuracy of all expenses incurred.
  • Liaise with facilities personnel and suppliers of contracted services to ensure that all services agreed to have been provided.
  • Create and maintain event invitee and attendance records.
  • Order and maintain inventory of materials and supplies.
