We are seeking to hire a
By Lawyers Legal Editor to join our highly motivated, high-velocity and growing team in CA.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Publications
- Work with the existing publications to ensure they are current, accurate and practical.
- Work with the Managing Editor to prepare new publications including conducting initial research, drafting precedents and writing relevant commentary on the law.
- Ensure the focus remains practicebased rather than academic and reflects the By Lawyers style and philosophy.
- Develop reference materials.
- Develop strong ongoing relationships with LEAP and fellow By Lawyers colleagues based in CA, UK, and Australia.
- Assist in the development of a publication plan in association with the Managing Editor for the next year including new publications and the review and enhancement of existing publications.
News Services
- Daily monitoring of the changes in legislation, practice and procedure that affect By Lawyers publications.
- Draft content changes to existing commentaries and precedents, keeping them current with practice and procedure.
- Ensure all publications are updated and ready as legislation is introduced or changed.
Customer Service
- Encourage feedback from all sources.
Marketing
- Be available to the LEAP sales, renewals and success teams ensuring they appreciate and understand the publications and how to use them.
- Participate in sales training days to assist and promote the By Lawyers message.
- Encourage and perpetuate a strong belief in the product.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- Experienced legal practitioner 5+ years.
- Experience overseeing support functions including legal, accounting, human resources, marketing, and information technology.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to interact and influence at all levels.
- Ability to organize.
- Project management and implementation skills.
- Microsoft Word skills
- Intermediate.
- Experience using legal document management software.
- Ability to communicate clearly and precisely. Plain language expression is essential.
- Strong organizational, time management and problemsolving skills.
- A professional approach and positive attitude.
