Position Highlights
We have an immediate need for an
Equipment Planning Manager with a background in planning, construction, procurement, installation, and commissioning process for capital equipment purchases within our health authority. You will be responsible for the overall management of a team that is designated for the successful project delivery. The Equipment Planning Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, logistics, and commissioning of the clinical equipment needed for the new facility to be operational and support patient care.
Build on your education and career experience as you:
- Provide leadership to project teams on the development of capital equipment plans
- Liaise with clinical and project consultants and various user groups to ensure working drawings are consistent with the project scope, budget, and project design schedules
- Develop project equipment budgets within the context of the approved project budget
- Provide consultation and advice on technical equipment as it related to procurement and contract documents
- Provide specialized advice on medical equipmentrelated issues
- Direct and supervise assigned staff by assigning work, orientating staff, developing and implementing appropriate staff development and retention plans
- Conduct performance evaluations and implements discipline up to and including termination, where required
- Monitor project expenditures, report on variances and make recommendations to the Project Director to ensure adherence of budgets and expenditures
- Work with clinical users to ensure capital equipment requirements and specifications meet the needs of the clinical requirements
- Handle relationships with the P3 Project Companies and nonP3 design builders and contractors on all equipmentrelated issues
- Lead the project team and partner with architectural and engineering consultants to ensure regional standards and safety policies are met and maintained
To join our team, you will have:
- A Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Biomedical/Clinical Engineering
- Seven to ten years' recent, related experience with major capital projects and complex medical equipment
- Two years' experience in a supervisor/leadership role in a large complex organization

Full Time position is based out of
Burnaby Hospital - Redevelopment Office, located in
Burnaby,
BC.
