The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Ontario Pumped Storage (OPS) Project, this position is responsible for managing a team that is responsible for cost, schedule, risk including project reporting.
What you'll do
- Support the Director to achieve daily and monthly deliverables.
- Liaise and guide Director on matters relating to project controls.
- Build out project controls team (identify roles, recruit and train where applicable) to suit project phase. In the interim, this role requires a "working manager" until such time adequate resources are secured.
- Manage governance and guidance to Business Units on matters relating to project controls.
- Lead the continued enhancement of all Project Control Procedures in PDS.
- Work with internal and external auditors.
- Manage all document controls, scheduling, risk, estimating and cost activities.
- Advise on project controls software tools suitable for project phase. Lead the implementation of such software as required.
- Ensure monthly internal & external reports are issued on time.
- Develop OPS Work Breakdown Structure.
- Lead all project controls functions in upcoming RFPs.
- Develop and implement Change Management process.
- Set up all project controls functions from a rateregulated perspective.
- Work with support groups to achieve common goals.
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure contracts are setup correctly and provide a future view of required contracts
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant Technical diploma/University degree with 15+ years related experience or appropriate combination of education and experience.
- Expert knowledge of Project Control functions, systems and processes including planning/scheduling, cost estimating, cost control, change management, financial, and project accounting processes and systems.
- Experience with largescale projects.
- Strong analytical, interpretive, organizational and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office).
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong Leadership competencies to successfully implement strategies.
- Ability to work and excel in a fastpaced, complex situations.
- A self starter, able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Expert knowledge in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) environment.
- Experience with hydroelectric projects.
