    What You Will Do
    The Bank of Canada is seeking a Specialist, Enterprise Communication and Collaboration Tools, to join the team responsible for the end-user experience and collaboration tools within the Information Technology Services department. This team manages the suite of digital collaboration tools and telephony solutions utilized by the Bank's end-users and continuously upgrades these tools and solutions.

    You will be involved in the assessment, upgrade, and deployment of collaboration technologies and telephony solutions used at the Bank, with a focus on enhancing the user experience and providing technical support for digital collaboration tools to offer an inclusive experience to all users regardless of their physical location.

    As a specialist, you will ensure that technologies always meet operational requirements while maintaining a balance between functionality, support, and security. You will configure, enhance, automate (script writing), and install various tools (SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, MS Teams, etc.), as well as security technologies (Defender 365, Cisco IronPort, etc.) within Office 365 and telephony solutions (VoIP, Operator Connect cloud telephony). You will also provide ongoing support, collaborate with partners and colleagues to define user needs, and work with clients to resolve any issues related to the Microsoft Office 365 platform and telephony. Through your excellent analytical and problem-solving skills combined with your communication talent, you will achieve goals that deliver a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.

    In this role, you will:

    • Collaborate with others to upgrade, deploy, and provide operational support for the Bank's suite of digital collaboration tools, including Microsoft Office 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Stream, Delve, Viva, etc.) and VoIP solutions (Cisco CUCM/UCCX/CER, Operator Connect cloud telephony)
    • Work with solution architects to design, test, and build solutions to integrate into the Bank's technology ecosystem
    • Implement and support various technologies (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Office 365, DLP, Safe Links, Enhanced Filtering, anti-phishing policies, email filtering, etc.) to enforce robust security controls
    • Provide daily Level 2 support for managing issues, integrating and maintaining the Bank's Office 365 client, and on-call assistance outside of business hours in the event of a significant operational incident
    • Build strong relationships with vendors and coordinate the flow of information with them to higher levels, if necessary
    • Ensure performance and availability meet service level agreements and operational objectives through active monitoring and rapid service restoration, including maintenance, administration, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and diagnostics
    • Identify opportunities to automate institutional processes and contribute to the automation of various service delivery tasks
    • Take personal responsibility for deploying new digital collaboration tools for end-users throughout the product lifecycle, contributing technical expertise, creativity, and informed perspectives to projects and teams
    • Analyze current solution environment and operational support models to identify improvement opportunities
    • Stay updated on digital collaboration technologies, including Office 365, and productivity and collaboration tools from other major third-party providers
    • Research new technologies in the market and provide recommendations

    Assets

    • Experience in various work environments providing a good understanding of different sectors, various hardware and software technologies, and IT security
    • Experience transitioning from on-premises telephony infrastructure to cloud solutions (e.g., Operator Connect)
    • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert), Cisco telephony certifications, and/or other relevant certifications

    Your Education and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3 to 5 years of experience integrating Microsoft Office 365 technologies into various security functions, including Defender 365, email gateways, conditional access, multi-factor authentication, and encryption
      • Experience implementing cloud-based collaboration tools for Canadian government organizations (hosting sensitive data, i.e., Protected B)
      • Experience supporting VoIP solutions (Cisco CUCM/UCCX/CER)
      • Demonstrated experience integrating technologies into various network infrastructures, including domain name systems, virtual private networks, proxy servers, and load balancers
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

    Hybrid Working Model

    The Bank offers working arrangements that provide flexibility to employees, enabling the formation of high-performing teams and fostering an excellent work culture. Under the Bank's hybrid work model, most employees can work remotely from home for a significant portion of each month and are expected to be present at the Bank's workplaces for at least eight days per month to help build connections with colleagues. You will need to live within a reasonable distance from the office.

    • Salary typically ranges between $90,535 and $, (position level 16) based on the selected candidate's skills and experience.
    • The Bank offers a bonus for individuals who successfully meet expectations, ranging from 5 to 7% of the individual's base salary. Performance-based compensation is offered to individuals exceeding expectations (10% of base salary). Employees delivering outstanding performance significantly above expectations may be eligible for higher performance-based compensation.
    • A comprehensive flexible benefits program allows you to choose the level of coverage that suits your healthcare, dental care, disability insurance, life insurance, and accident insurance needs.
    • You can also purchase additional days off (a maximum of five per year) in addition to your basic annual leave entitlement.
