MARINA CRANE OPERATOR

Mission Group, a leading, Okanagan-based builder that specializes in high-rise urban developments, is looking for both full and part time,
Marina Crane Operators to join their Boat Club team for the season.

Reporting to the Boat Club's Vice President, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving boats between storage racks and loading platforms.

This is the first and last step in the club's goal of providing a seamless and rewarding experience to members and guests as they enjoy the perks of the boating lifestyle in the beautiful Okanagan.


Your responsibilities Include:


  • Communicating with other teams members/managers in a timely manner
  • Performing all responsibilities with a positive attitude and a high level of customer service
  • Completing daily/weekly/monthly inspection checklist for an 8T Stacker Crane
  • Safely and efficiently operating the crane to move boats to/from dry rack storage as needed
  • Ensuring that all persons in the vicinity of the crane are following policies and procedures
  • Logging and following up on any concerns, issues or operational deficiencies
  • Administrative tasks as needed
  • Assisting in other areas of the operation during slow times

Skills and Competencies Needed:


  • 3 or more years' experience operating cranes or other heavy equipment
  • Familiarity with a variety of recreational boats
  • A spotless safety record
  • Concentration, precision, and excellent handeye coordination
  • Excellent grooming (uniform attire provided)
  • Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and very reliable
  • Exemplary attention to detail with excellent followthrough and followup
  • Able to maintain member and guest confidentiality
  • Able to work varying shifts as needed including weekends and holidays
