DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of Asset Management Database

  • As the campus expert on asset management software (Streamlined Asset Management
  • SLAM), manage the capital assets inventory and data system to accurately reflect component replacements and system renovations.
  • Analyze asset management software information to establish priorities and risks associated with individual capital asset components (all aspects including but not limited to building envelope, interior finishes, mechanical and electrical services, etc ).
  • Prepare reports as requested by Bursar's Office, Facilities & Services, Finance, Office of the President. Effectively utilize data to generate a variety of reports for use by various University offices and funding government bodies.
  • Conduct inspections of the USMC capital assets, as required, and update the asset management database to ensure accuracy of system components, performance, condition and remaining useful life.

Strategic Planning

  • Provide primary oversight and responsibility for the strategic building maintenance and deferred maintenance plans for USMC. Develop strategic maintenance plans and budget forecasts (shortterm (2years), midterm (5years), and longterm (10years)) to address deferred maintenance and manage Facility Condition Index (FCI) levels.
  • Provide expert advice to Facilities & Services team, Finance and the Bursar's Office, regarding deferred building maintenance. Utilize data and broad market sector knowledge of construction, renovation, and utilities, etcto prepare and present business cases and obtain buyin for the best strategic options for the campus.
