Description
Nature of the Work:
- The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in performing a set of administrative functions of a relatively complex nature according to established methods and procedures and clerical functions related to activities in their area
Responsibilities:
- Works with faculty members to ensure textbooks and material requisitions are submitted in a timely manner respecting established deadlines;
- Processes bookstore and course material orders as required by faculty or administration;
- Adopts and edits textbook information according to established procedures;
- Maintains accuracy and consistency of adoption data and publisher contact information;
- Validates inventory for textbooks;
- Follows up on incomplete orders, up to and including the cancellation and rerouting of the order;
- Prepares shelf tags;
- Works closely with the receiver to ensure that incoming orders are processed quickly and correctly;
- Operates the cash as required;
- Answers customer/staff inquiries as required;
- Develops an appropriate knowledge of the various product lines stocked in the Bookstore;
- Performs other related tasks within bookstore including physical counts when needed;
- Carries out related tasks, similar in nature within Auxiliary services including but not limited to; service center, purchasing and PARC;
- Performs other related tasks.
Length of the contract:
To June 30, 2023, with possibility of extension
Requirements:
- Qualifications:
- To have a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) with an appropriate in an appropriate specialty or a secondary school diploma (DES) or a have a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority and have at least one (1) year of pertinent experience.
- Conditions:
- Intermediate level Word and Excel (testing may be required)
- Advanced oral and written English communication skills (testing may be required)
- Basic written French and intermediate oral French communications skills (testing may be required)
