The Canadian Light Source Inc. (CLSI) is a national research facility of the University of Saskatchewan.

CLSI produces very bright light to explore the nature and structure of molecules, and serves national and international users from academia, industry, and government institutions.

Responsibilities:

Provide accounting review of requisitions for projects.
Preparation of daytoday journal entries.
Responsible for life cycle accounting for projects including set up, budgets, changes, closing projects.
Responsible for payroll processing for semimonthly exception pay.
Responsible for preparation of monthly GST and PST returns.
Responsible for preparation of project division reports.
Responsible for preparation of invoices for nonindustrial activity.
Provides oversight for invoicing and cash deposit process (including PCI compliance).
Provides oversight of payroll processing and responsible for labour code compliance.
Periodic functional back up and direct support of Finance Assistant roles and for daily/weekly Senior Accountant tasks
Responsible for preparation of T4, T4A and T4ANR slips and annual returns.
Responsible for WCB compliance and annual return preparation.

Qualifications:

Completion of relevant Post-Secondary education or training program or courses in accounting is mandatory. A relevant undergraduate degree is preferred.
Three to five years of related experience is required.
Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Keen interest in process simplification and improvement.
Demonstrated proactive approach to problemsolving with initiative to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely resolution.
Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Ability to communicate both clearly and concisely in verbal and/or written format.
Excellent organizational, research, and analytical skills with the ability to summarize information into reports and other documents.
A sense of initiative, with the ability to set priorities, follow workflows, and meet deadlines.

Salary:
The salary range for this position will be $54,700 - $74,000.

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
