Reporting to the Industrialization Sr Manager, the Method Specialist - Composite provides product, process, and manufacturing support to one or more Business Units for the full lifecycle of CCM's products.

The Method Specialist - Composite will interact closely with Innovation, Commercialization and Operations teams to enable maximum efficiency at any internal or external CCM manufacturing site by being a leader in method and process validation for composite products.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Take ownership of technical problem solving with support from other departments.
  • Define, validate, and deploy assembly/process method and/or manufacturing specifications to produce hockey equipment primarily made of composite material.
  • Interpret and validate drawings/standard operating procedure/manual process instructions and other documents from the engineering department.
  • Define and test the tooling required for the manufacturing of composite hockey equipment components to ensure the required geometric tolerances and/or performances.
  • Be a stakeholder in the development of critical tools, influence on product development and followup to be a reference in manufacturing method and tooling development.
  • Provide technical leadership to the daytoday operations within the prototyping manufacturing cell.
  • Promote the "Design for manufacturing and assembly" vision to engineering to achieve organizational goals.
  • Investigate root causes of problems and analyze potential solutions by evaluating costs, impacts and risks of a change in production.
  • Participate in the elaboration of manufacturing improvement strategies.
  • Contribute to research and development projects in manufacturing innovation and production readiness,
  • Harmonize the implementation of engineering changes or assembly strategies by working closely with the commercialization, industrialization, quality, and production departments.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate nonvalueadded tasks by optimizing production sequence.
  • Support the design of workstations related to composite manufacturing.
  • Participate in FMEA and internal Kaizen event.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor or technical college degree, (mechanical, composite) combined with 3 to 5 years of manufacturing experience. Any other pertinent experience may be considered.
  • Excellent team spirit.
  • Good decisionmaking process.
  • Experience in composite (thermoset) is required.
  • Experience in thermoplastic composites is an asset.
  • Experience in consumer products and/or sporting goods is an asset.
  • Experience in additive manufacturing (3D Printing) is an asset.
  • Experience in automation is an asset.
  • Indepth knowledge of product design, development, and manufacturing processes
  • Familiarity with the following software and operation system: AutoCAD, PRO ENGINEER, MSOFFICE, (ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR is not essential but an asset)
  • Bilingualism (English and French).
  • Global thinking and available to travel internationally 4 to 5 times a year.
