THE ROLE

  • Manage queuing and production for 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC milling, CNC sewing, and dark knife cutting (all CAM operations)
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, and student work in progress in a tidy and organized fashion
  • Assist students directly with computeraided manufacturing production and supervise the use of highrisk equipment to ensure safety
  • Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and consulting with them on technical and design aspects of student work and initiatives as needed
  • Liaises with teaching staff and support staff in planning and carrying out practical work projects
  • Assist teachers in developing an inviting, inspiring and creative design & technology program in consultation with the Instructional Design Technologist
  • Organise and implement an ongoing planned maintenance system for all design & technology equipment including Computer-Aided Design (CAD) / Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM) systems and equipment, woodworking tools & equipment, and other resources as needed.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance, storage and usage comply with the school for risk management and Health & Safety standards
  • Manage inventory of all design & technology equipment and sustain appropriate levels of access control
  • Source materials, economically, for design & technology projects, and coordinate onsite delivery and inperson pickup

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A postsecondary degree in a related STEM field, integrated technology, industrial arts, theatre production, or another related discipline to the implementation of design & technology
  • Experience in computeraided design and/or manufacturing
  • Knowledge of appropriate use of relevant equipment
  • Glicense with clean driver's abstract
  • Confidence in learning new digital tools
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with colleagues and students
  • Highrisk machine safety training or demonstrated ability to adhere to standards of safety
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and effectively plan and meet deadlines
