Job Summary:

Oil Extraction Associate is responsible for ensuring daily production tasks of the oil extraction process are completed efficiently, safely and securely.

The job tasks of Oil Extraction Production Associate include but are not limited to the preparation, filtration and dilution process of oil extraction and bottling, weighing, and labeling cannabis oil.

Completion of all tasks are to be executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters as specified by the quality department.


Your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of:

  • Able to work well both independently and as a team
  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees within the department.
  • Ensure security of the department and facility during designated shift hours.
  • Enforce all safety and processing procedures while maintaining a clean and safe workplace in accordance with all production and quality SOP's.
  • Enable effective communications between management and other employees.
  • Report all incidents (inventory discrepancies, accidents, equipment failures, NCR's, etc.) to supervision immediately upon discovery.
  • Produce and prepare cannabis oil products as necessary to meet daily production demands including:
  • Extraction
  • Milling
  • Decarboxylation
  • Dilution and Filtering
  • Bottling
  • Inventory
  • Refinement
  • Winterization
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

To be successful in this position you will have the following:

  • Completion of Post-Secondary program required, B.Sc preferred
  • Production experience in a food or health product related industry
  • Demonstrated experience in a productionoriented position
  • In depth understanding of established values and strategy of Aphria.
  • Ability to rationally analyze a situation, act on an idea or make sensible decisions that are in line with the company mission.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; Good mathematical and computation skills
  • Ability to motivate others to meet demands established by the schedule.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures set forth by the Company.
  • Operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes (i.e. scales, extraction machines etc.)
  • Good understanding of computers and Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, and safely lift up to 50lbs repeatedly
  • Must be able to wear/use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods of time (i.e. gloves, lab coat, hair net)
  • Must be able to work in an enclosed and secure work area
