Information Analyst

Status:
Permanent Full-time (Hybrid)**Reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Information, Member Regulation Policy, the Information Analyst, Member Regulation Policy:
  • is a member of the Member Regulation Policy Team (MRP)
- is responsible for monitoring financial rule adequacy on certain foreign currencies, government bonds, indices, index participation units, index futures and exchange-listed securities
- participates in other operational and day-to-day work of MRP


Key Responsibilities:


  • Monitor financial rule adequacy on certain foreign currencies, government bonds, indices, index participation units, index futures and exchangelisted securities
  • Update supporting schedules and regulatory lists based on research and analysis
  • Draft notices and coordinate publication of margin rate and regulatory list changes
  • Assist Senior Information Analyst with research and analysis of policy projects

Education/Experience:


  • Professional level of knowledge in the field of business, including finance or accounting
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the investment industry with a financial institution, investment firm, financial regulator, and/or audit firm
  • Experience in regulatory policy would be an asset
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course would be an asset
  • Experience in regulatory reporting, compliance or credit at a dealer member firm would be an asset

Key Skills and Competencies:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including research and drafting skills
  • Excellent wordprocessing skills (knowledge of Microsoft access, word, excel, powerpoint, Adobe etc.)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize competing matters
  • Knowledge of Investment Dealer financial and operational rules, requirements and guidance would be an asset
  • Knowledge of equity, fixed income and index securities
  • Knowledge of foreign currency and derivative investment contracts
  • Understanding of the Canadian securities industry
  • Knowledge of the investment industry regulatory regimes in other countries would be an asset.
