The Ontario Association of Architects (OAA) is a self-regulating, not-for-profit organization that is governed by the _Architects Act_, a statute of the Government of Ontario.
Its principal object is to regulate the practice of architecture.Purpose
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Building Operator will be responsible to maintain a high standard of building and property maintenance and cleanliness, maintain positive relationships with contractors and maintain a safe, healthy environment as well as to provide building related administrative support such as covering reception.
Responsibilities
- Building Support
- Complete cleaning duties a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis
- General maintenance including housekeeping such as sweeping, litter pick up, shoveling and pressure washing
- Maintain climate control and other mechanical systems within a building
- Oversee preventative maintenance and unscheduled repairs of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, electrical, elevating devices, roofing and life safety systems
- Participate in corporate occupational health and safety program
- Ensure building safety inspections are completed and action items are complied with
- Monitor and update security and other building systems
- Setup furniture and basic setup of AV equipment for meetings
- Restock food and office supplies; keep café clean and functional
- Administrative Duties
- Process invoices, work orders, inspection reports
- Support property maintenance budgets
- Take minutes for the Joint Health and Safety Committee and Building Committee
- Maintain and coordinate onsite and offsite storage
- Prepare packages for couriers and distribute mail within OAA offices
- Back up Receptionist
Qualifications
- Experience holding a junior or intermediate position in building operations is preferred
- Working knowledge of BAS systems is a benefit
- Strong knowledge on safe work practices
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Self motivated with a positive attitude and a good work ethic
- Intermediate skills with knowledge of MS Office (Word & Excel) and Outlook
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Reliable and dependable
- High school degree or equivalent, trade school preferred is preferred
- Able to lift 140lbs
Compensation
- $50,000-$60,000/year commiserate with experience

OAA Headquarters (Leslie & 401 area)
111 Moatfield Drive, Toronto, ON, M3B 3L6
On-Site Hours: 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
Remote Hours:
must be available 24/7 to answer phone calls from Security provider
