About Us:


Chemical & Biochemical Engineering
The Department of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering is one of six academic units in the Faculty of Engineering.

Faculty and staff in the department support and foster the educational and research pursuits of undergraduate and graduate engineering students, while providing the best student experience.

The Department aspires to become one of the top Chemical & Biochemical Engineering departments in the world through excellence in research, impact, and graduate and undergraduate education.


Responsibilities:


  • The Research Associate will assist Dr. Lauren Tribe Briens in implementing some of the new learning components of the course and in the associated research. The incumbent will conduct literature reviews related to active learning and inclusivity in the (engineering undergraduate) classroom, support the design of the research project, and support the preparation of research ethic protocols.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • A minimum education equivalent to upper year chemical engineering student or to a student pursuing an education degree or equivalent
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline preferred

Experience:

  • 3 years' working experience in a related academic research environment

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to describe technical concepts effectively
  • Ability to work independently and maintain direction and focus
  • Demonstrated ability to research/investigate issues and resolve problems
  • Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Knowledge of course design and the literature of engineering education and related concepts would be an asset
