In this position you will be reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor. As the Process Technician - Ovens, you will be responsible for maintaining demand for production requirements. The intention of the role is spend 50% of your time operating ovens and 50% Nital etching components.


Shift Hours - Weekend Nights Shift - Friday - Sunday (6:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)

Primary Responsibilities (Oven):


  • Part loading and unloading and the general support of the process facility
  • Ensure strict attention is paid to temperatures, times in and out, batching of parts, logging and tracking of components
  • Ensure both the safety of the operator and the components
  • Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams)
  • Communicate and coordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts
  • Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedure
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Preparation of components for plating processes (i.e. masking, cleaning, tooling)
  • Active participation in the implementation and execution of lean principles
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Primary Responsibilities (Nital Etch):


  • Etching of aircraft components during the manufacturing process;
  • Read OP sketches and work instructions to identify with requirements
  • Maintain acceptable production, quality levels, and departmental equipment, as well as practice safety in the workplace and maintain good housekeeping
  • Utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:


  • Minimum requirements include Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically 2 years of related manufacturing experience
  • Previous formal crane training required
  • Demonstrated experience in material handling and hoist operations required
  • Must be in good physical condition and be able to lift up to 40 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to work well in a team
  • Demonstrated experience with Nital etching would be considered an asset
  • Strong PC skills
