Weekend Day Shift - 3x12 hour shifts - Friday to Sunday; $4/hour shift premium applies

  • Read specifications and follow verbal instructions
  • Utilize computer program to review jobs and their due dates
  • Lay out, set up and operate metalworking machines including plasma / laser cutter and brake press
  • Ensure parts are defectfree, checking products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications
  • Follow standard work procedures when operating machinery to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and to ensure only quality product is produced
  • Perform daily maintenance to keep clean and ensure machines are working well
  • Use various measuring instruments e.g. Vernier calipers, protractor, measuring tape, micrometer
  • Identify and create bending sequences needed to form parts
  • Load steel sheets onto cutting table using jib crane and vacuum lift
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices
  • Unload cut parts from laser table and load them into part carts to go to the next operation
  • Cut scrap material using torches, remove from the cutting table and place in scrap bin
  • Keep work area clean and organized according to 5S Standards
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiative

  • Keen attention to detail, an outstanding work ethic and the ability to multitask
  • Heavy lifting may be required (up to 50lbs), gripping, pinching, twisting
  • Physical job, required to be on your feet all day, moving around consistently
  • Able to work quickly with mínimal supervision
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Willingness to learn other jobs and potentially advance to other positions
