Summary:

Nice is seeking a Production Manager who can analyze our current production processes and create the best methods for day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Responsible for operator assembly, warranty and spares support and leads the safety committee. Includes day to day oversight of operator fulfillment, optimizing assembler assignments, trouble shooting, and process improvement. Interfaces with the business regarding all production activities, project management of custom equipment orders, and metrics reporting.

Responsible for overseeing the production department, establishing manufacturing best practices with a focus on lean manufacturing, and setting a culture of continuous improvement throughout the production team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develops MPS and MRP on a regular basis and works closely with Supply Chain to align production and purchasing plans.
  • Develops CRP on a regular basis and works closely with Human Resources to align required capacity plan with required workforce.
  • Reviews sales orders and schedules to determine the optimum production loading needed to satisfy demand and ensure ontime delivery to customers.
  • Determines optimum staffing level and deployment based on sales forecast and standard times for assembly operations.
  • Resolves operational and manufacturing problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales, and Engineering to ensure coordination of fulfillment activities.
  • Coordinate production of warranty and spares assemblies.
  • Participate in new product development introduction.
  • Take an active role in improving operational efficiency through Lean implementation, 5S and Six Sigma.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives in the production area.
  • Compiles, stores, and reports on production data.
  • Develop new metrics and KPI for continuous improvement.
  • Control production department budgets.
  • Coordinate with Quality Department to establish quality control procedures.
  • Create training manuals and host departmental training sessions.
  • Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.
  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
  • Schedules routine maintenance for operational equipment in coordination with site management.
  • Coordinates with appropriate departments for any required upgrades.
  • Ensures all required inspections are being performed as necessary and maintains inspection reports.
  • Assigns action to any issues requiring immediate assistance.
  • Coordinates with site management group for any required thirdparty maintenance.
  • Leads safety committee and oversees resolution to safety concerns.
  • Holds monthly safety committee meetings and publishes minutes.
  • Drives safety concerns to closure.
  • Continuously monitors safety of all operations and proactively addresses any needs of the business.
  • Establish safety best practices.

Required and Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent plus a minimum of four years related experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing certification from accredited institution or minimum four year's experience in LEAN management implementation is required.
  • 5S and Six Sigma certification or implementation is a plus.
  • Experience in sustainable manufacturing to meet goals set by the organization.
  • Ability to read an interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of working with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • High level knowledge of MS Word, Excel (pivot tables, graphs, advanced functions), PowerPoint and Business Intelligence software.
  • Working experience with ERP systems.
  • Experience identifying, developing, and monitoring critical performance metrics.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and experience managing 20+ employees.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA requirements.
