The team of CBC Specialty metals is urgently recruiting for a
Shear Operator/Forklift operator to join our team based in Vaughan, ON.

Job Summary
This position is responsible to set up and operate Accurshear machine to cut stainless steel, aluminum, Brass and Perforated sheet steel and other materials to specified dimensions and angles.
Main Responsibilities:
- Shear and trim sheet steel and plate according to written or verbal instructions, sketches, blue prints etc.
- Operate the shear machine and adjust the backstop controls in a safe manner
- Measure dimensions of work piece, using measuring tape, gauge, template, or ruler and square, for conformance to specifications
- Lift work piece manually, by forklift or by overhead crane, positions and secures against guides and stops.
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of experience with the use of hydraulic shears
- Basic math skills and functional literacy in reading, writing and calculation is required
- Ability to setup and run machinery without supervision.
- Forklift or Crane license considered an asset.
- Ability to check and measure parts to ensure accuracy and precision. (Standard tape measure, Vernier and micrometer).
- Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
- Good communication skills
- Must be reliable
Benefits.
Pay:
$18.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
