In support of the division's overarching goal of providing residents and businesses with seamless, multi-service access to government programs, the Division's service offerings are marketed to partner ministries and the broader public sector to expand our continuum of services and leverage common platforms.


The position provides direct support to the Director of Financial Operations, who acts as Service BC's Chief Financial Officer, and oversees all financial aspects of the division.

The position has direct responsibility of the divisions IM/IT capital and revenue management and supports the Director in providing leadership/expertise in full cycle financial reporting to Service BC's executive management team.

Provides guidance and expert advice to ensure programs adhere to generally accepted accounting principles and applicable provincial legislation, ensures adequate risk management of internal controls and is accountable for the provision of financial accounting advice/services to the Director of Financial Operations as well as executive of program areas within the division.


Job Requirements:


  • Degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Finance/Accounting; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
  • Experience in independently analyzing complex economic/financial issues to provide strategic advice, information and/or support to senior executives.
  • Experience in government capital asset reporting, procedures, and management.
  • Experience in working in a cost recovery environment and managing recoveries and receivables.
  • Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support decision making and issues resolution.
  • Experience preparing and providing highlevel briefings, documents, and presentations to senior executives.
  • Experience leading, mentoring and coaching staff, and fostering a positive work environment.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA or CGA).
  • Experience in managing trust accounts, banking, and cash management.

About this Position:

This is currently a 1-year TA with the possibility of becoming permanent.
An eligibility list may be established for future permanent and or temporary vacancies.
Remote work is allowed. This position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia as per the Telework Agreement.
