About the role: Principal Engagement Manager

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. In this role, you will combine technical expertise with strong project leadership skills to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for clients, bridging business requirements with technical solutions and ensuring alignment with customer outcomes.

You will apply AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, demonstrate technical credibility across diverse stakeholders, distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make informed trade-off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.

As a Principal Engagement Manager on the ProServe team, you will lead and manage complex cloud migration and implementation projects, leveraging comprehensive knowledge of AWS services, architectures, and best practices to guide technical decisions and strategic planning. You will validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks to exceed customer expectations.

You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions by facilitating engineering discussions, distilling customer needs into actionable deliverables, and contributing to technical documentation standards. Working with diverse stakeholders—including C-level executives and enterprise accounts valued at $5M+ annually—you will demonstrate client relationship management expertise, ensuring alignment with business outcomes throughout project lifecycles.

• 8+ years experience in cloud computing
• Experience in project management of technical programs
• 12+ years of direct client relationship management experience, including presentations to C-level executives and management of enterprise accounts valued at $5M+ annually
• 12+ years experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience
• Preferred: AWS experience, PMP and/or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate
• Preferred: Strong understanding of AWS services, architectures, and best practices
• Preferred: Experience applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework
• Preferred: Proven ability to establish technical credibility with engineering teams and senior decision-makers
• Preferred: Proven success managing multiple stakeholders in complex enterprise environments, adapting to team dynamics and cultural nuances
• Preferred: Demonstrated ability to present to C-level executives and technical experts on best practices, project management, and risk mitigation
