TRCA's Maple Syrup Festival - 2023
Each year in Ontario, a remarkable natural event takes place as maple sap, frozen solid over the long, cold winter, starts to thaw and the maple tapping season begins.
Come work on our 2023 Maple Syrup Festival.We have opportunities to work on our demonstrations, on engaging in activitiesand, of course, to talk about real maple syrup Special family fun activities on weekends and March break.
Work Locations:
- Kortright Conservation Centre 7 vacancies
- Bruce's Mill Conservation Area 5 vacancies
By working at TRCA you will:
- Work outdoors beautiful natural areas.

Major Responsibilities:
General Retail Sales
- Review and communicate product information to customers.
- Operate point of sale machine(s).
- Cash handling.
- Perform basic cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
- Conducting an inventory of and restocking and facing product to appear full and inviting.
- Labelling, pricing, and barcoding items for resale with Gift Shop Leads guidance.
- Welcome, inform and assist visitors providing excellent customer service.
- Operate Point of sale systems and perform retail operations.
- Handle cash and other forms of payment.
- Respond to customer complaints and clients concerns while demonstrating excellent customer service skills and report them to the Gift Shop Lead.
What will you need to succeed:
Education (degree/diploma/certifications)
- Completion of Ontario Secondary School Diploma will be an asset.
- Significant cash handling experience.
- Retail sales experience.
- Conflict resolution and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Superior customer service skills.
- Conflict resolution and problemsolving skills.
- Good analytical and problemsolving, organization and time management skills.
