Job Summary


The Service Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing a team of service technicians and support personnel who promptly and professionally address the repair and preventive maintenance of customers' BMS, HVAC, security and RTLS systems.

The Service Manager shall be further responsible for driving the profitable execution of all work; identifying and delivering new opportunities with clients; and having complete ownership of the service department budget and P/L statements.

As a leader within Ainsworth, the Service Manager is a mentor to junior staff and a collaborator with senior management.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and take ownership of the service department budget and all required financial reporting requirements assigned
  • Forecast team deliverables for all service project work, quoted work orders, preventative maintenance contracts and spot service calls monthly
  • Mentor and work with the team of service technicians on how to identify and quote work on client sites
  • Ensure all back office processes are maintained accurately including team time and expense reconciliation, reporting and auditing, expense and tool control, and proper and accurate documentation of service work performed
  • Regularly audits work being done and customer service being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly
  • Work closely with dispatch to ensure the service technicians are properly setup for the week and that all required site visits are completed.
  • Monitors department issues and client complaints to define patterns and work to lessen those recurring issues
  • Develops working knowledge of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws, and ensures service department adheres to all regulations
  • Establish and maintain a productive and positive working environment.
  • Oversee and direct the activities of Service Technicians and support personnel.
  • Manage and implement all service administrative processes.
  • Plan and prioritize work for staff in conjunction with Service Coordinators.
  • Recruit, train and assign departmental staff.
  • Ensure compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Offers exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by upselling products and services and taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professional
  • Ensure adherence to Ainsworth safety program and OH&S regulations as a manager

Qualifications

  • Engineering Technology diploma an asset
  • 5+ years of BAS Service or Construction experience.
  • 5+ years of Management experience considered an asset.
