Description
The main function of the Trade Development Manager (TDM) position is to open and maintain accounts for designatedCompany products utilizing a Company-owned van and distributor target lists of accounts. The Trade Development
Manager reports to the appropriate territorial Region Manager (RM).
Essential Job Functions:
- Aggressively identifying, targeting, sampling, and selling new and potential accounts within an assigned territory.
- Merchandising retail accounts including delivering and placing products, pointofsale (POS) materials, refrigeration units and barrel coolers.
- Coordinating convenience store and chain store account shelf product and POS resets.
- Coordinating marketing crew drive activities in various locations in and outside of the assigned territory, including arranging for and assisting in product deliveries, opening new accounts, and merchandising accounts.
- Arranging for regular vehicle maintenance and record keeping of that maintenance as well as ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean and wellorganized to provide for a professional product and Company image.
- Maintaining route book records by distributors, including target lists and route cards for each account.
- Attending distributor meetings on a regular basis.
Position Requirements:
- Solid English language communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid French language communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic computer operating skills in and outside of an office environment to include handheld devices.
- Demonstrable comfort level in dealing with people, both individually and in groups.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to drive and maintain the assigned Company vehicle, and to travel to and within territories as assigned.
- Occasional travel outside the assigned territory may be required.
- Be at least 21 years of age and have and maintain an acceptable driving record, in order to be covered by the Company's insurance carrier.
- Ability to perform physical activities required by job duties including lifting and moving up to 65 pounds individually and occasionally greater weights with assistance; ability to bend, stretch, stoop, climb, and perform other physical acts in delivering/setting/moving/removing product, refrigerators, and POS displays (side racks /mobilizers / etc.)
- Ability to successfully meet standards of physical examinations and substance abuse testing if require
