Gowling WLG's Immigration Group navigates the complexities of immigration laws and rules, and is here to help get the people you want to the places you need them to be.


RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist professionals with legal matters in the areas of U.S. and Canadian immigration;
Work as part of a team with an immigration law clerk and legal administrative assistants to support the busy practices of the immigration professionals;
Contact USCIS, CBP and other government agencies with respect to client matters;
Attend relevant professional development opportunities on an ongoing basis to ensure excellent client service and skillset;
Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years as a law clerk/paralegal specific to immigration is preferred;
Law clerk/paralegal diploma or equivalent law clerk experience is required;
Strong knowledge of U.S. Immigration practices and procedures;
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, including the ability to take initiative with little instruction;
Ability to handle a heavy and varied workload;
Ability to adapt to the needs of the practice and legal professionals;
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
Excellent prioritization and organization skills;
Excellent attention to detail;
Demonstrated commitment to a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion is required.
