Job Summary


The Tool Room Attendant performs any combination of the following tasks to receive, store distribute, and requisition tools, equipment, and products within establishments.


This position will be used to fill 1 spot at the Gibson Energy Project site in Edmonton.

Schedule is 10 days on, 4 days off: 10 hr

Essential Functions

  • Actively support the Company's commitment to safety and it "Core Values"
  • Always represent the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company's "Code of Business Conduct and Ethics."
  • Assist tool room in checking in/out tools, distributing consumables, and logging transactions.
  • Small repairs of tools and equipment will be required.
  • Maintain small tools and consumable inventory records.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Complete requisition forms to order tools and equipment and maintain inventory records.
  • Prepare reports on overages, shortages or damaged tools.
  • Ensure all work referenced above is completed at an acceptable productivity level for employee's classification and experience level.
  • Always maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a tool room.
  • General knowledge and experience with basic hand tools (drills, grinders, etc.).
  • Inventory/clerical skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and databases.
  • Ability to work well with and support internal employees and lead team members.
  • Safety tickets that are required: CSTS 09 or 2020, Confined Space, Fall Protection, H2S Alive.

Physical/Special Requirements

  • Lift 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Climbing ladders if necessary
  • Finger dexterity and eyehand coordination and ability to maintain balance
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping.
  • Use of hand tools such as hammers, knives or wrenches.
  • Visual ability to include color vision and depth perception.
  • Work may include pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as raw or fabricated material, equipment or tools.
  • Perform all duties while wearing protective equipment such as safety glasses, safetytoed boots, hard hat, and gloves if necessary.
  • Work involves standing and/or walking for extended periods of time, up to a minimum of 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to perform task in got and cold temperatures.
