We are looking for a talented, motivated, results-oriented and enthusiastic person and are hiring a
permanent full-time Property Maintenance Worker for the Guelph Wellington area (i.e. Guelph, Fergus, Mt Forest, Harriston, and Erin).

As a Property Maintenance Worker, you would be responsible for ensuring all properties and vehicles meet the highest standard and are in good condition to support the delivery of high-quality services to the people we support.

The Property Maintenance Worker will be reporting to the Operations/Compliance Manager and will work in cooperation with all Managers, Supervisors and Direct Support Professionals in the agency.

As a Property Maintenance Worker, your primary responsibilities will include doing general day-to-day repairs, upkeep and maintenance as well as coordinating and overseeing trades/contractors who will complete approved contract work as well as schedule regular and unforeseen repairs to CLGW vehicle fleet at all CLGW locations.

The Property Maintenance Worker will monitor the "maintenance ticket" software based on priority levels.


Key Responsibilities:


  • General repair and maintenance work (i.e. painting, drywall repair, ceiling tile installation, ceramic tiles repair/installation, carpentry, lock replacement/repair, plumbing, door/window repair, appliance repair, etc.)
  • Minor renovationsinstall flooring, bathtubs, vanities, cupboards, wooden steps
  • Follow up on repairs and maintenance that are beyond the scope of their ability or require a licensed operator to complete (i.e. mechanic, plumber, electrician)
  • Report the need and assist with the coordination of capital projects
  • Monitor maintenance ticket items based on established priority levels and efficiently execute a high volume of maintenance requests
  • Follow up with maintenance software users to ensure that they are aware of their status/resolution of their requests
  • Participate and contribute to property enhancement where neededmake requests for quotes
  • Complete seasonal maintenance including eaves troughs, branch trimming, barbecues, water shutoffs, dryer vents and filters
  • Organize and schedule routine vehicle maintenance and external inspectionsfire suppression, HVAC, elevator
  • Provide general status reports for all properties
  • Immediately advise the Operations/Compliance Manager of issues/problems/concerns that cannot be resolved using the normal process

Educational/Technical Competencies

  • High school diploma/GED
years of property repair, maintenance and home renovation experience

  • Experience supporting multiple properties and overseeing multiple vehicles
  • Have a working knowledge of building and fire code, QAM regulations and Small Water Systems
  • Building trades' certificate, or equivalent, considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of OHSA, WHMIS
  • Willing to travel to various locations within the Guelph Wellington area
  • Flexible work schedule
with start and end times may vary with emerging needs with the possibility of working weekends and evenings if required

  • Available to work between 25 to 40 hours a week
  • Ability to lift/carry 60 lbs and to competently operate power tools, equipment and machinery
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle, up to date insurance and a valid full G driver's license
  • Must be fully COVID Vaccinated
