Unregulated Care Providers/ Guest Attendants report to the Health and Wellness Manager and provide residents with physical and personal care needs to a high-quality standard and with

sensitivity.

Additionally, the Unregulated Care Provider demonstrates commitment to resident safety by providing high-quality care in accordance with the organization's vision and mission.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to the care plan
  • Medication Administration according to relevant legislative requirements and organizational policies and procedures
  • Provides general housekeeping, laundry, and recreational activities
  • Displays a sense of spontaneity and ability to change the moment positively for people
  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and report changes to the supervisor and respond to medical emergencies
  • Thoroughly document Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Ensure the health and safety of all individuals within the home by following procedures and protocols
  • Assist with dining service
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident information including resident medication among other residents
  • Deals courteously with staff, residents, resident families and visitors
  • Provide emergency first aid/care until appropriate medical care is available
  • Assist with resident admissions and discharges when required
  • Complete medication administration training
  • Assist with administration of medication to residents
  • Any and all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

The qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:

  • PSW or Health Care Aide Certification preferred,
  • Experience in Retirement or longterm care preferred,
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory,
  • Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors,
  • Good understanding of the nursing/health and wellness process, PSW/UCP/GA

  • Clear vulnerable sector screening (w/ in last 6 months), recent TB test results (w/ in last 6 months) or Chest Xray (w/ in last 1 yr), and two supervisory references required.
