Duties

Weeks are often 4-5 day work weeks. 40+ hours per week depending on production needs.

  • Primarily cleaning rooms and baskets after they've come back from the farm
  • Independent work mostly, some team work
  • Floater duties include
  • Weigh trays that were weighed prior to setting (will be clearly marked on eggs)
  • Remove cart from setter careful to not pull too hard or too fast as cart can damage setter or cause injury to human or live embryo
  • Load trays from top to bottom of cart onto line
  • Watch fingers as tray and setter cart are sharp
  • Move empty carts to cleaning area for team lead
  • Clean transfer room/setters/setter hallway
  • When loading eggs, be sure to follow signs of a good vs bad egg. Dispose of poppers appropriately (in bucket, while keeping distance from face) and culled eggs humanely (on an empty egg tray beside egg loader and then euthanized promptly in macerator)
  • Prep several trolleys for baskets and toppers
  • Load each basket onto belt, alternating between toppers and baskets
  • Fix errors that pop up when appropriate call transfer team lead and/or maintenance when necessary (Be aware of loose fabric around machines and
    never put a body part inside a machine that is running):
  • Clean area thoroughly after finishing transfer
  • At the end of each shift, the room must be cleaned according to the Production Supervisors instruction.
  • The room must be fully locked out prior to cleaning.

This position involves commutes with the driver as a passenger from the hatchery to the farms within a two hour radius.

Trillium Hatchery is looking for one person to split their time between working in the plant and being a truck helper.

The position would be a floater in the plant helping in different areas including maintenance making repairs etc.

The position would also require the employee to be helping load day old chicks at The Hatchery and unload them at farms.

$20/hr Overtime after 44hours in a week Paid company benefits after 3 months Up to 4% RRSP matching after 3 months
