Job Description:

The Co-op Student, Business Finance, is a financial resource to the Divisional Business Controllers and Vice President, Business Finance supporting all North American businesses at Chemtrade.

The Co-op Student is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial/business reports.

Further, the Co-op Student will assist in ad hoc analyses and special projects as required to support the Business Finance team.

Responsibilities:

Monthly / Quarterly Report & Analysis:

Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for the Divisional Business Controllers and Vice President, Business Finance which highlight and explain significant variances between actual results and Plan or Outlook.
Preparation of monthly variance analysis and explanations versus Plan or Outlook including
Customer Volume and Mix variance analysis
Customer Price variance analysis
Logistics and Suboptimal Supply analysis
Foreign Exchange analysis
Other analyses as directed
Assist in preparation of monthly or quarterly business review presentations

Special Projects:

Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required to support the business.
Provide support to other business areas if required.

Requirements:

2nd /3rd year University student enrolled in a Business/Accounting Program, B.Comm etc.
Must be detailoriented with strong analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
Good time management skills. Selfstarter, ability to multitask and work independently
Strong MS Excel skills required (formulas (such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF, etc.) Pivot tables
Working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
This position will be hybrid home based with approx. 1 to 2 days in the North York office per week.
