Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree or diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Significant experience with cash flow management, banking management and processing deposits
  • Extensive knowledge of electronic banking systems and services
  • Experience reconciling subledgers with general ledgers
  • Demonstrated ability to priorize, work in an organized manner and meet conflicting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts
  • Ability to work in an environment that requires discretion in dealing with confidential information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated verbal communication skills
  • Denonstrated written communication skills

Desired:

  • Ability to investigate and determine potential fraud

Duties:


Under the general direction of the Manager, Corporate Accounting, the Banking Officer plays a key role in ensuring the daily cash requirements of the corporation are met.

This includes being responsible for monitoring daily banking transactions on all of the corporate bank accounts. Duties include preparation of daily cash forecasts and banking reports, and investigating unauthorized or fraudulent transactions.

Duties also include reconciliations, journal entries and analysis of financial information, preparation of internal and external electronic bank transfers based on operational requirements, corporate agreements and guidelines.

This position is responsible for the addition, change or withdrawal of electronic banking information for tenant and vendors and is also responsible for the download and completion of various system to system interfaces.
