We are currently recruiting a Corporate Production Planner for our Dartmouth, NS location.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Planner will ensure our production operations run smoothly.

The Production Planner will coordinate the production workflow for multiple products, in multiple locations and plan operations to ensure maximum performance with mínimal delay.

This position will work collaboratively with the team in planning the daily production schedule of the plant machinery while maximizing efficiency and ensuring waste, overtime and downtime are kept to a minimum.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Owns the production scheduling process across our facilities and works closely with the Operations and Sales teams to ensure production and delivery goals are met.
  • Receive scheduling orders from our other locations, prepare production reports, and assist the production team in a variety of areas including the gathering, analyzing, filing and reporting of quality information and various other record keeping duties.
  • Creates production schedules and creates jobs in the system while respecting all material, equipment and personnel constraints.
  • Followup as required with all teams to expedite flow of product to meet production schedule and customer expectation.
  • Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or to provide additional information, as requested.
  • Develop and achieve departmental/company goals and controls.
  • Monitor paper inventory and ensure adequate stock.
  • Recommends and executes plans to improve system and demand planning accuracy.
  • Communicate production status to Mangers and Customer Service on regular basis.
  • Analyze delays and interruptions and accordingly adjust production schedule with schedulers to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain reports for production planning activities.

Required knowledge and training includes:


  • Planning and Inventory Management Certification (CPIM), an asset, or 5 years of demonstrated manufacturing planning experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS programs including Word and Excel.
  • Above average mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Detailoriented, accurate, and tenacious followup.
  • Dependable team player that is willing to help others as required.
  • Organizational and multitasking abilities; not phased by changes.

  • Minimal exposure to plant environments such as noise and dust.
  • Repetitive work using computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
