HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST

Mission Group, a leading real estate development, construction, and property management company in the Okanagan, is seeking an
HR Generalist for a full time, one-year term position.

Your role will be anything but one-dimensional as you'll undertake a wide range of HR tasks, like strengthening recruiting and onboarding processes, organizing trainings, supporting employee benefits, drafting HR policies, and helping to expand the employer's current career development program.

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, you'll play a key role in ensuring the HR department's operations run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole.


What to expect from the role:

  • Assist with all internal and external HR-related matters
  • Communicate and negotiate with external recruiters when needed
  • Process hiring and payroll documentation
  • Conduct new employee orientations and update employee records
  • Participate in developing organizational guidelines and procedures
  • Recommend strategies to motivate employees
  • Collaborate with others on HR projects such as best practice in career pathing programs
  • Maintain an HRIS database of employee information
  • Create initiatives/events to grow employee usage of social intranet site
  • Produce and submit reports on general HR activities

What will help you shine in the role:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • 3+ years of experience in an HR generalist role
  • CPHR designation, or working towards it, is an asset
  • Experience in recruiting would be an asset
  • General understanding of a wide range of employmentrelated functions
  • Analytical mind with problemsolving attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Excellent recordkeeping skills
