Manulife Bank is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven Assistant Product Manager with a passion for driving growth, supporting innovative products and services and delivering exceptional customer experience to join the Cards & Partnerships team. The Assistant Product Manager will be responsible for supporting a wide range of initiatives and day-to-day activities related to the overall Manulife Bank payments strategy and more specifically debit cards and ATMs.

As an Assistant Product Manager, you will be responsible for helping support key projects and initiatives designed to address business opportunities and challenges.

This position will work collaboratively with internal and external partners to achieve key portfolio metrics by executing on strategies that drive profitability, streamline existing processes, and improve the customer experience.


Key Accountabilities

Product Management:

  • Support the implementation of strategies that balance sales, customer experience, risk management and profitability objectives.
  • Support the execution of product enhancements including features & benefits changes and product pricing.
  • Manage collateral including welcome kits, letters, forms, ATM signage and coordinate updates as required.
Processes and Business Requirements

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and documentation to support Manulife Bank debit cards and ATMs.
  • Develop/implement a customer centered approach to support high quality delivery.
  • Work closely with delivery organization to execute required compliance items from vendor partners (including Interac) and other regulatory changes as required.
  • Manage invoices from multiple vendors supporting Manulife Bank Cards & Payments.
  • Support the resolution of customer concerns for Cards & Payments.
  • Provide support for daytoday inquiries and activities related to Manulife Bank ATMs.

Relationship Management:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships working collaboratively with key external vendors as well as Bank Operations, Finance, Credit Risk and Compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement programs that improve the customer experience.
  • Act as key point of contact for daytoday inquiries for select vendors.

Portfolio Optimization:

  • Work closely with Sales & Marketing teams to execute strategies for ongoing customer engagement through the development of sales tools, scripting, internal communication and campaign support.
  • Work closely with Credit Risk, Operations and key vendors to support key channels including strategies, processes and overall customer experience.
  • Positively influence key debit card and ATM metrics
  • Support internal communications regarding campaigns, initiatives and other productrelated changes.

Job Requirements:


  • University degree in Business or Marketing
  • 13 years previous experience in payments preferred
