Material Coordinator to join the

Solarfective Team in

Scarborough, ON.


What Will You Do?

Role:
Ensures raw materials and components are staged for production.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible to monitor production schedule to ensure that raw materials and
components are staged for production.

  • Through detailed knowledge about inventory developed on job, be ready to assist
production scheduling and purchasing proactively address potential raw material

component shortages and/or excess inventory situations.

  • Assist with cycle count program when needed. Participate in annual full physical
inventory count.

  • Demonstrates leadership in Safety related issues. Responsible for thorough knowledge
of appropriate safety practices; must wear appropriate PPE Follow all safety policies and

practices, enforces safety throughout the plant, provides new hire safety training and

awareness.

  • Make sure all materials are labeled correctly.
  • Communicate daily with the Manufacturing Manager, Lead Person, and/or Production
Scheduler important information such as;
Changes in schedule

Damaged or broken equipment

Line Progress

Production line speeds

Paperwork accuracy

  • Responds proactively to performance concerns, employee complaints and other
employee relations matters and reviews concerns with the department Manager.

  • Make sure stocking area is clean and organized, free from food, waste, trash and any
hazard that may cause an injury.

  • Review work order schedule status using a computer. As requested, enter work order
information into PIC & Smartsheet. Prepare various production measurements as

directed.

  • Must be accountable for one's conduct of department.
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisors or managemen

Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)


Experience:

o1 to 3 years Inventory/logistics experience, forklift experience required.

oExperience with caliper, micrometer, and measuring tape


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:


  • Requires attention to detail.
  • Ability to audit work to identify issues and implement processes to prevent errors.
  • Excellent math skills able to add and subtract fractions
  • Basic reading and writing English.
  • Communicate effectively with others must.
  • Selfmotivated.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work with different departments such as receiving, accounting, shipping,
production, etc.

  • Computer experienced in MS Office, PIC, SMARTSHEET.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling,
pushing, and pulling.

  • Able to stand the majority of the workday.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills.
  • Able to work under pressure & demonstrates the ability to complete assigned
tasks under stressful situations.

  • Must be able to differentiate between material types (stainless steel, aluminum,
plain steel, galvanized and zinc).

  • Count and weigh parts to check quantity accuracy.
  • Ability and applied knowledge in Material Handler job description
