Job Summary
Within the context of a patient centred model of care promotes a safe respectful and civil working environment for patients families visitors and staff Reporting to the Coordinator performs variety record processing records completion switchboard registration functions Performs records processing qualitative analysis duties such as assembly scanning quality control validation retrieval delivery filing checking completeness patient record maintaining record completion system identifying verifying correcting patient information Provides telephone exchange services by operating computerized switchboard receiving transferring calls taking messages forwarding telephoning directly Provides patient location information in accordance with department standards directions patients visitors Responds emergency signals situations cardiac arrest bomb threats disasters operating locating equipment following established codes procedures notifying appropriate individuals departments Sorting preparing incoming outgoing mail photocopying filing operating facsimile machine Interviews patients relatives family obtaining registration information registering patient computerized admission discharge transfer system Processes preadmissions accessing HealthNet determining healthcare number PHN assigns new PHN required Searches other databases required
Responsibilities
- Performs record processing functions related to patient records assembling scanning quality control validation identifying verifying correcting patient information utilizing Admission Discharge Transfer Electronic Health Record System checking discharges previous admissions pulling delivering folders documents merging duplicate files making folders printing chart labels filling as required Retrieving according established policies procedures maintains updates records utilizing computerized record systems Refers unusual requests Coordinator designate Follows up problems documentation questionable encounters duplicate registrations merges Takes steps correct resolve problems Initiates edits merges duplicate numbers as required Enters deficiencies into module Maintains completion systems performing duties printing distributing weekly physician notices incomplete records reports Medical Administration Department Heads Administers temporary suspension process regarding non-compliance around completion in accordance with departmental procedures Generates pending suspension notices physicians notifies Registration temporary suspension due non-compliance Answers inquiries release Patient Information Continuity Care performing duties retrieving photocopyp releasing according established procedures Operates switchboard receive transfer calls takes messages forwards telephoning directly providing Patient Location Information according Standards Directions Patients Visitors Responds Emergency Signals Situations Cardiac Arrest Bomb Threats Disasters Operating Locating Equipment Following Established Codes Procedures Notifying Appropriate Individuals Departments Sorting Preparing Incoming Outgoing Mail Photocopying Filing Facsimile Machine Interviews Patients Relatives Family Obtaining Registration Information Registering Patient Computerized Admission Discharge Transfer System Processing Preadmissions Accessing HealthNet Determining Healthcare Number PHN Assigns New PHN Required Searching Other Databases Required
