Clerk performs record processing functions related to patient records by assembling/scanning quality control validation identifying verifying correcting patient information utilizing computerized Admission Discharge Transfer System checking discharges previous admissions pulling delivering patient folders documents merging duplicate files making up folders printing chart labels filing required retrieving records established policies procedures maintaining updating utilizing computerized record completion systems referrings unusual requests Coordinator designate Following up regarding problems documentation questionable encounters duplicate registrations merges taking appropriate steps correct resolve problems entering deficiencies into computer system Maintaining completion systems performing duties such as printing distributing weekly physician notices incomplete records reports Medical Administration VP Medicine Department Heads Administering temporary suspension process non-compliance around completion departmental procedures generating pending suspension notices physicians notifying departments Registration temporary suspension due non-compliance Answering inquiries related release information continuity care receiving request retrieving photocopy releasing according established procedures Providing telephone exchange services operating computerized switchboard receive transfer calls takes messages staff forwards telephoning directly Provides location information accordance standards directions patients visitors Responds variety emergency signals situations cardiac arrest bomb threats disasters operating locating equipment following established codes procedures notify individuals departments Sorting preparing incoming outgoing mail photocopying filing operating facsimile machine Interviews patients relatives family obtain registration information relevant personal demographic responsibility payment registers patient computer admission/discharge/transfer system processes preadmissions accesses HealthNet determine PHN assigns new PHN required searches other databases as necessaryJob description
