    Description
    Reviewing, Reception, and Reading Communities (CRE372H1F)

    Victoria College Program:

    CRE372H1F Reviewing, Reception, and Reading Communities - While readers and audiences often are considered to be cultural "consumers," this course will consider reception as an active, creative, and often collaborative activity, by examining formal and informal practices of reviewing and response that may include fan/fanfic cultures, book clubs, community and nation-wide reading programs, and award competitions.

    Such contexts of reception will be considered along with their social, economic, and ethical implications.

    Course Modality :
    In-person, Victoria College campus


    Teaching Assistant:
    There is no TA support

    PhD (preferred) or relevant university degree in English, Creative Writing, Comparative Literature, Book History, or a closely related field, combined with a record of research and publication and/or substantial professional experience related to reviewing, reception, literary communities, and cultural industries
    Excellent skills in undergraduate teaching as demonstrated by previous experience and evaluations
    Ability to communicate concepts clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
    teaching evaluations, proposed course outline
    This position is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902, Unit 2 Collective Agreement.
