- Analyzing and writing program scripts to extract, reformat and analyze data;
- Providing detailed information on data analysis findings to stakeholders and formatting research results to be presentable and easily comprehensible
- Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected;
- Drafting documents for knowledge translation purposes
- Editing content for grant applications and drafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approval
- Fostering positive relationships with project partners, advising on research project design and ensuring that research practices adhere to policies and procedures
- Delivering presentations at conferences on research findings
- Tracking and monitoring research activities and informing stakeholders of project progress
- Maintaining project records and checking that projects adhere to ethical and privacy requirements
- Master's Degree in epidemiology, public health, or related discipline.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant work experience that includes manipulating and analyzing large health and laboratory databases or equivalent
- Broad knowledge about vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases
- Depth of knowledge about measles epidemiology and vaccination
- Experience working with vaccine coverage data
- Previous experience conducting a systematic review
- Demonstrated experience conducting statistical analysis (i.e. SAS, Stata or R)
- Experience with multiple types of statistical analysis, including descriptive and regression analyses.
- Experience in analyzing complex survey data, specifically Statistics Canada's Childhood National Immunization Coverage Survey
- Demonstrated experience with data management and resolving data issues
- High proficiency with MS Office Suite such as Word, PowerPoint, and other software packages and programming languages currently used to collect, analyze and report data
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously
- Strong communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills

About us: The Dalla Lana School of Public Health is a Faculty of the University of Toronto that originated as one of the Schools of Hygiene begun by the Rockefeller Foundation in 1927. The School, which plays a critical role in the COVID-19 pandemic response, went through a dramatic renaissance after the 2003 SARS crisis and it is now the largest public health school in Canada, with more than 850 faculty, 1,000 students, and research and training partnerships with institutions throughout Toronto and the world. Your opportunity: The Centre for Vaccine Preventable Diseases (CVPD) is an interdisciplinary centre that his hosted by the DLSPH, with members from across several faculties at the University of Toronto. The CVPD's mission it to increase health and to improve confidence in vaccines and immunization programs through the provision of evidence-based information aimed at communities, health care providers, schools, decision-makers, the general public, and other stakeholders. As the Research Analyst (Epidemiologist), you will be responsible for applying analytic research expertise to a number of projects in a secure data environment. You will develop study designs, and conduct statistical analyses according to defined plans. You will interpret data, prepare tables and work collaboratively with project teams to assist in preparing reports, manuscripts and presentations. Your familiarity with laboratory and epidemiological data, solid communication and organizational skills will be crucial to your success in this role.
