About the role
Canadian Blood Service is looking for a
Regular Full-Time Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic
Supply Chain Operations West team.


The
Supply Chain Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by shipping, receiving and distributes inventory for the Winnipeg location as well as the security and organization of the warehouse.


Formula for success

  • Drawing on your inventory experience, you maintain inventory control using FIFO/FEFO processes, perform inventory allocation in eProgesa and SAP, and perform inventory counts as required; identify, report and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Utilizing your organizational skills, you receive, log, sort and distribute product/mail within the Winnipeg location.
  • Receive all designated CBS shipments and complete appropriate documentation.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for the receipt and distribution of product. Including product placed into quality inspection.
  • Distribute product to departments as requested.
  • Prepare biowaste shipments
  • Monitor temperature within warehouses and replace charts

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of a secondary school program
  • Minimum two years' experience as a shipper/receiver within a Logistics environment, with preference in warehouse and inventory distribution
  • Experience in a Healthcare environment is an asset
  • Working experience with inventory control processes (FIFO and or FEFO) is an asset
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills; exercise sound judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with others
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; manage multiple tasks with competing priorities
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with peers, management, customers, volunteers and donors
  • Effective problem solving skills; capable of interpreting and analysing reports to make plausible recommendations
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers within a Window operating system using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in MRP systems software, preferably SAP
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm is required.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
  • Maturity and ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision

What you can expect

  • Shifts are Monday to Friday hrs.
  • Physical requirements ability to lift weight that may exceed 10 kg. This position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching and lifting.
