What you'll doPlease note this position is under redevelopment. The job scope is due for revision in consideration of broader trends in media services and evolving needs within the CapU Library. As incumbent, you will have input in the position revision process.
This position receives direction from the Technical Services Supervisor and works closely with the Technical Services team and librarians responsible for media selection, as well Library Services staff.

- Technical writing skills for procedure and training documentation.
- Time management skills for meeting deadlines for tasks and projects.

- Organizational skills and attention to detail for record keeping, license tracking, reviewing licenses, and communications.
- Financial literacy for budget tracking.
Preferred Experience
- Academic library experience, preferably in media or technical services.
- Experience reviewing vendor licensing terms and agreements.
- Experience navigating and troubleshooting technical access for digital resources.
- ILS experience with circulation, course reserves, and basic cataloguing, preferably Sierra ILS.
- Workplace experience using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
What you'll bring
- Completion of a twoyear Library Technology diploma comparable to the programs offered at Langara College or University of the Fraser Valley.
- Two years of library technical services, cataloguing, ILL, or other related experience.

Days and Hours of Work
- Work week: 35 hours per week. Work is conducted primarily on campus; however, CapU offers some flexibility in working conditions and there is the opportunity to request compressed work schedules for modified work weeks.
